New Volunteer Opportunity: Facilities Director

The Richmond Knob Hill Community Association has an upcoming opening for a Director, Facilities. This individual will oversee the maintenance and operations of the Community Hall, Skate Shack and associated outdoor areas. They will liaise with the Board and direct our staff member who manages rentals, services and vendors. There is an opportunity to build a collaborative team.

General Duties:

  • Responsible for oversight of facilities that includes community hall, skate shack, patio space, parking lot, and grounds

  • Supervises building maintenance and repair

  • Manages staff who is responsible for hall rentals

  • Reviews condition of facilities and the life-cycle report semi-annually and reports update to the Board of Directors

  • Maintains up-to-date building maintenance records

  • Manage a budget and ensure vendors are paid on completion of work

  • Obtains estimates for maintenance, repair and upgrade work

  • Recommends facilities-related grant opportunities and assists in their completion/submission

  • Executes annual building maintenance plan as directed by the board in the business plan

Skills Required:

  • Highly organized and attentive to details

  • Any building operations/maintenance experience would be an asset but not essential

Estimated Effort Per Month:

  • The role requires approximately 6 hours of effort in a typical month in addition to attending monthly board meetings

  • Some months may require up to 10 hours of effort for maintenance oversight, grant applications, etc.
