"After a year's absence due to the pandemic, a "lite" edition of Marda Gras Street Festival is going ahead on August 8 with the okay from the City of Calgary and AHS. With an optimistic but careful approach, and a much condensed timeframe for planning, Marda Gras "Lite" means mostly busker-style performances instead of full music stages, and likely fewer vendors. We are also coming up with alternatives to the traditional pet pageant and kid zone activities. We will be on the same festival site but shortened a block: 33rd Ave from 19th Street to 22nd Street SW.
